CUPE Local 70 is part of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) — Canada’s largest union, representing over 750,000 workers across the country in a wide range of sectors.
We are a team of skilled and dedicated professionals who help keep communities running by supporting municipal and library services in: City of Lethbridge, Town of Raymond, Town of Fort Macleod, Lethbridge Public Library
Our Roots
Our story began in 1922 when we received our charter from the Canadian Labour Union as the Lethbridge Civic Employees Federal Union No. 70. Since then, we’ve been standing strong for workers’ rights — advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect on the job.
Who We Represent
We represent a diverse range of roles that are essential to the day-to-day functioning of our municipalities — including administrative staff, public works, tradespeople, librarians, and frontline service providers.
